For decades the Viking's Cottages were a favorite of vacationers in the charming Nye Beach section of Newport, Oregon. These picturesque cabins closed for good in December 2007.

The Viking's Cottages have been replaced by the Greenstone Inn, now in construction. The Greenstone Inn is a dramatic new complex of 20 units, each with unobstructed ocean view and convenient beach access.

Thinking globally, the new complex incorporates "green" technology such as solar panel electricity and waste water heat recovery. The underground parking will have charging stations for twenty-first century electric vehicles.
